I’m sixteen and very interested in doing high fashion makeup for photoshoots, fashion shows etc..
What’s the best way to get in to and to succeed in this industry?
My mom was saying it would be a good idea to call modeling agencies or photographers, I could show them my portfolio and maybe talk to someone in that industry already about how to get a job or somehow get an in to work with them when I get out of cosmetology school.

High Fashion Photography Equipment Photography, Fashion, Make-up? I can’t decide. =[?
Like most people, I've been through a lot of "phases" with what I think I'd like to do as a career, but photography has always been something I love... I went through quite a few disposable cameras as a kid, haha. However, I also think doing make-up and designing clothing would be amazing... The fashion industry is really harsh, though, so I don't know if I'd want to be a designer, but fashion photography sounds fun... Then again, there are a LOT of photographers as well... It's an expensive thing to do if you don't know where you're going [equipment, travelling, and education], and I have no idea what I’d do after I spent all of that money… I have a couple of years to go before college, but high schools pressure you to know what you want…I looked in to colleges, and I’m not sure which is best. My mom says The Art institute and such are over-advertised all over tv and overpriced…I was hoping someone could voice their opinion…Thanks for your time, and for reading my rant… >_<

my kind suggestion is dont think abt photography as ur full time career. u learn photography as part time course, along witha full time course..like computers…after learning photography take up small assignments, slowly as u getting busy with assignments u can completely shift ur career,. all successful photographers did like this..
u need to do a course of ur interest, which promises a strong career, and as asecondery option think about photography…its my honest sugestion.
Plastic Fashion Rings Metal Alternatives to metal jewelry/rings for electronics technician?
My new husband & I are looking for rings. But he can’t wear metal rings because he works with electricity. Well, he CAN wear metal jewelry, but has to be extremely careful, in fact he wore a metal ring years ago & got zapped a few times even though he was cautious.
So we were thinking about other materials he can get a ring made from. We thought of bone, ivory, stone, wood maybe? But those would probably break, scratch or dent easily. Wouldn’t they?
So any thoughts on what we could do instead without having to go the whole tacky plastic route! Unless there’s some abnormally precious plastic you know of? Ha, well, we ARE open to any ideas!
(I have no idea what other category to put this in so I’m asking here in electronics & also in fashion & accessories, but where else could I ask this?)
